Dr Evelyn Yeung

Hailing from South Australia, Evelyn attended the University of Adelaide where she received both her bachelor degree in dental surgery and postgraduate training in the Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry). She has worked in private and public practice gaining a wide breadth of experience and knowledge in Melbourne, and metropolitan and rural South Australia.

During her specialist paediatric dental training, Evelyn gained experience and developed interests in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, children with special needs, behaviour management, laser soft tissue procedures, dental anomalies and management of dental trauma.

Evelyn was also involved in undergraduate anatomy tutoring, preclinical and clinical paediatric demonstrating, and lecturing. Evelyn is a former president of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry (Victoria Branch). She was recently inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the Specialist Dental Practice discipline of Paediatric Dentistry.

In 2019, Evelyn completed an intensive course to achieve certification as a handler to work with Mr Miso, our visiting therapy dog. They are working together to provide animal assisted intervention (AAI) therapy to aid children attending the practice.

In her spare time Evelyn enjoys spending time with her young family, pottering about her garden, training Mr Miso and experimenting in the kitchen.

Mr Miso

Visiting Therapy Dog

Mr Miso is our visting certified therapy dog, who has been an endless source of cuddles since 2017. After extensive obedience training, he passed an intensive certification course with the Lead the Way Institute.

He loves to meet children and their families who are visiting the practice. Mr Miso enjoys putting a smile on their face as well as helping them feel more relaxed and comfortable when they are visiting the dentist. His current role involves providing animal assisted intervention (AAI) therapy and comic relief. Like his human owner, Mr Miso attends the clinic when he can but is not present every day as he works from home on occasion.

When he's not at work, Mr Miso is a beloved family member for Dr Evelyn. In his spare time he pawticipates in fundraising events, loves to play ball with friends at the local dog park, and long walkies.

Heather

Practice Manager

Heather has worked in the dental industry for almost 10 years. Nine of those years have been spent working in paediatric dentistry with Dr Evelyn! She obtained her dental assisting certification from Box Hill Tafe, and is presently working towards obtaining her Diploma in Practice Management.

During her spare time she is running around after her two daughters. Heather is an avid gardener with an extensive indoor plant collection, native garden, and dog-proofed veggie patch! You may even catch her at the local play ground when it's sunny, working on new creations in her sewing room or participating in fun runs.

Leslie

Front Office Coordinator

Leslie has worked in a variety of industries during her working career. She joined the Happy Smiles for Kids team as a Receptionist in April 2023, and calls HSK her “love job”. Her bright smile and energy is infectious, as she shares her positivity and good humour with everyone she meets.

Married forever with three amazing children and two magnificent grandchildren (her little munchkins), Leslie is mainly on the go with family and friends (with the occasional trip to London to see her daughter). She also loves to shop, smell the roses, listen to music and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

Emily

Dental Receptionist

Emily comes from a background in hospitality and administration. She joined the team at Happy Smiles For Kids in October 2023 and has thrived in her first role in the dental industry.

Outside of work Emily spends most of her time with friends, playing netball, and enjoying a walk in the sun with a coffee.
Emily’s favourite part about being at Happy Smiles for Kids is working with an amazing team and cuddling Mr Miso!

Taleesha is a qualified dental assistant having completed her studies with Chisolm Institute and is really enjoying the experience!

When she's not at the clinic, Taleesha is busy with her own beauty business. Her photography tips and savvy social media skills have been a welcome addition to Mr Miso's Instagram page!

Taleesha’s hobbies include going out with family, seeing her friends, and enjoying the sunshine. Best of all she enjoys spending her time with her son.
