Meet the Team at Happy Smiles for Kids

Dr Evelyn Yeung

Dr Evelyn Yeung is a specialist paediatric dentist with a passion for helping children feel comfortable, confident, and cared for at every visit. Originally from South Australia, Evelyn completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide, followed by postgraduate training leading to her Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry). She has built her expertise across private and public practice settings in Melbourne, Adelaide and rural South Australia.

During her specialist training, Evelyn developed a particular interest in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, children with special needs, behaviour management, laser soft tissue procedures, dental anomalies, and the management of dental trauma.

She has also contributed to the profession through undergraduate anatomy tutoring, preclinical and clinical paediatric demonstrating, and lecturing. A former president of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry (Victoria Branch), Evelyn has since been inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the specialist discipline of Paediatric Dentistry.

In 2019, Evelyn completed an intensive certification course to become a qualified handler for Mr Miso, our beloved visiting therapy dog. Together, they provide animal-assisted intervention (AAI) therapy to help children feel at ease during their appointments — a truly special addition to the care we offer at Happy Smiles for Kids.

Outside the practice, Evelyn loves spending time with her young family, pottering in the garden, training Mr Miso, and experimenting in the kitchen.

Mr Miso

Mr Miso

Visiting Therapy Dog

Mr Miso is our visting certified therapy dog, who has been an endless source of cuddles since 2017. After extensive obedience training, he passed an intensive certification course with the Lead the Way Institute.

He loves to meet children and their families who are visiting the practice. Mr Miso enjoys putting a smile on their face as well as helping them feel more relaxed and comfortable when they are visiting the dentist. His current role involves providing animal assisted intervention (AAI) therapy and comic relief. Like his human owner, Mr Miso attends the clinic when he can but is not present every day as he works from home on occasion.

When he's not at work, Mr Miso is a beloved family member for Dr Evelyn. In his spare time he pawticipates in fundraising events, loves to play ball with friends at the local dog park, and long walkies.

Heather

Heather

Practice Manager

Heather brings over 12 years of dental industry experience to her role as Practice Manager, with 11 of those years dedicated to paediatric dentistry alongside Dr Evelyn. She holds a dental assisting certification from Box Hill TAFE and is currently working towards her Diploma in Practice Management — a reflection of her commitment to growing alongside the practice and the families we serve.

Heather's genuine love for working with children and their families is evident in everything she does. Her warm, organised approach helps ensure every visit to our practice runs smoothly, from the moment you book to the moment you leave.

When she's not at the practice, Heather is kept busy by her two daughters. An avid gardener, she tends to an impressive indoor plant collection, a native garden, and a dog-proofed veggie patch. You might also find her at the local playground on a sunny day, creating something new in her sewing room, or crossing the finish line at a fun run.

Shani

Shani

Front Office Co-ordinator

Shani brings warmth, organisation, and a genuine care for people to her role as Front Office Coordinator at Happy Smiles for Kids. With a background in allied health and nursing, she understands what it means to make patients — especially young ones — feel at ease from the moment they walk through the door. That empathy and patience show in everything she does.

Outside the practice, Shani's world revolves around her three dogs, who are rarely far from her side. Whether she's out on a walk with them, baking up something delicious in the kitchen, or relaxing with a good movie or a swim, she knows how to recharge — and she brings that same positive energy to work every day.

Sarah

Sarah

Dental Receptionist

Sarah brings a wonderful blend of experience in medical science, floristry, and social service to her role at HSK. She loves getting to know families from all walks of life and takes pride in making each visit a positive and welcoming experience. Known for her attention to detail and calm, organised nature, Sarah helps ensure the clinic runs smoothly and that every child feels cared for.

Beyond the clinic, Sarah enjoys expressing her creativity through home décor and finds relaxation in an evening stroll along the beach with her husband. On her days off, she’s often outdoors—sipping coffee at local cafés, immersing in nature, or heading off on family adventures. A proud mother of three, Sarah cherishes time spent camping during the summer months and exploring the country with her family.

Tiffany

Tiffany

Dental Nurse

Tiffany is a qualified dental nurse who brings warmth and a gentle approach to every young patient she cares for. She understands that visiting the dentist can feel a little daunting for kids, and she goes out of her way to make each child feel safe, comfortable, and at ease from the moment they walk through the door.

Outside the clinic, Tiffany's heart belongs to her elderly dog, who can usually be found snoozing on her lap or nudging her for extra pats and cuddles. Her love of animals says a lot about the kind of caring person she is — and that same warmth is exactly what she brings to every child she looks after.

We Look forward to Seeing Your Smile
