Dr Evelyn Yeung

Dr Evelyn Yeung is a specialist paediatric dentist with a passion for helping children feel comfortable, confident, and cared for at every visit. Originally from South Australia, Evelyn completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide, followed by postgraduate training leading to her Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry). She has built her expertise across private and public practice settings in Melbourne, Adelaide and rural South Australia.

During her specialist training, Evelyn developed a particular interest in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, children with special needs, behaviour management, laser soft tissue procedures, dental anomalies, and the management of dental trauma.

She has also contributed to the profession through undergraduate anatomy tutoring, preclinical and clinical paediatric demonstrating, and lecturing. A former president of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry (Victoria Branch), Evelyn has since been inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the specialist discipline of Paediatric Dentistry.

In 2019, Evelyn completed an intensive certification course to become a qualified handler for Mr Miso, our beloved visiting therapy dog. Together, they provide animal-assisted intervention (AAI) therapy to help children feel at ease during their appointments — a truly special addition to the care we offer at Happy Smiles for Kids.

Outside the practice, Evelyn loves spending time with her young family, pottering in the garden, training Mr Miso, and experimenting in the kitchen.
